We Are All Ukrainians Germany
We’ve partnered with WAAU Germany, who works with the organization Save Ukraine.This sister organization fundraises across Europe, pooling donations from the United States to fund rescue missions organized by on-the-ground teams. The NGO Save Ukraine operates these on-the-ground teams.
Save Ukraine
Save Ukraine is the locally-based non-profit organizing rescue missions to save children and return them to their families. Save Ukraine has rescued over a thousand children so far, and #WeAreAllUkrainians Germany and USA both contribute donations to fund each rescue mission.

Who does the on-the-ground rescue?
Save Ukraine is the only NGO that regularly organizes rescue missions to return deported children from Russia. The organization was founded by Mykola Kuleba, Ukraine’s former Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights from 2014-2021.
As of December 2025, Save Ukraine has returned 1026 children. Save Ukraine provides training, planning, and funding for family members who travel through Poland, Belarus and Russia on dangerous 3,000-mile journeys to locate and retrieve their children.
Why are these Ukrainian children being held apart from their families?
Children have been kidnapped from orphanages and care facilities, sent to vacation camps, or taken after their parents are detained. The documented purpose is forced “re-education” and Russification – a deliberate process designed to erase Ukrainian identity through banned use of Ukrainian language, exposure to propaganda, visits to patriotic sites, and military training.
Children undergo intense indoctrination including military training for older boys with vehicle and weapons operations, while younger children are taught Russian narratives and prohibited from speaking Ukrainian. Many children have been illegally adopted by Russian families, with Russia changing birth certificates to alter names and places of birth, making identification and return extremely difficult. PBS
How are the kids located?
Activists created comprehensive lists of over 1,300 places across Russia with addresses and phone numbers where deported children may be located. OSCE PA
Yale’s Humanitarian Research Lab uses open-source materials and satellite imagery to document and verify locations of at least 43 camps holding Ukrainian children. Euronews
Ukraine’s Security Service provides intelligence showing confirmed locations including recreation camps, orphanages, psychiatric institutions and military schools. European Parliament.
